Our objective is to offer timely and top-notch medical care. To achieve this, we have established an appointment/cancellation policy. This policy enables us to optimize the use of available appointments for patients who require medical attention. Monday through Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm
Fridays 8:30am to 4:00pm
Saturdays 8:30am to 3:30pm – may be available on request for select med spa and esthetician services

Our practice utilizes an after-hours and weekend answering service for emergencies only, which may be reached by calling our phone number and leaving a message with the answering service. Your call will be returned by one of our practitioners.

In the event of a true medical emergency, you should immediately go to the emergency department.

For non-urgent matters such as scheduling an appointment, prescription refills, or test results, please call during regular business hours.


APPOINTMENTS

Our practice is committed to providing quality care to our patients. To ensure timely continued care, we require patients to schedule appointments in advance.

While we strive to schedule appointments appropriately, emergencies and delays can and do occasionally occur. For this reason, we kindly request your patience and understanding should a delay or rescheduling become necessary for your appointment date. We will do our best to accommodate you to the next available date.

To ensure quality care, our practice does not treat patients we have not seen previously, or have not seen within the past year (i.e., we will not call in prescriptions or offer medical advice for patients before their initial visit, or if it has been over a year since your last visit). Should you require a prescription or medical advice, please feel free to schedule an appointment to ensure that we can offer you quality care.


ADVANCE CANCELLATION POLICY

In order to be respectful of the needs of our patients, please be courteous and let us know promptly if you cannot attend or must cancel an appointment. This time will be reallocated to someone who is in need of treatment. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another person the ability to have access to an appointment.


LATE ARRIVAL POLICY

At our practice, we strive to run as on time as possible! This isn’t always an easy task for a busy medical office. In the event a patient shows up late, this can cause a “domino effect” and result in our providers running late for our remaining scheduled appointments who showed on time.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, the visit will need to be rescheduled and considered a “late cancelation.” You will be subject to our late cancellation fee per the applicable policy stated above. If you arrive less than 15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, we may, at our discretion, attempt to accommodate you into the schedule if the schedule allows. This may also result in your visit time being cut short to allow this.

In either case, if you know you are running late, please contact our office immediately.

**PLEASE NOTE THAT NO-SHOW AND LATE CANCELATION CHARGES ARE PATIENT RESPONSIBILITY AND WILL NOT BE BILLED TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY


CONSULTATION CHARGES

Our office does not charge for consultations, except in the instances below.


SELF SCHEDULING

For the self-scheduling option, a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit can be used towards the cost of your treatment or procedure with that provider. The amount is $250 for a consultation with Dr. Richland, $150 for a visit with our PA/NP/RN, or $50 for a visit with our aesthetician.


VIRTUAL CONSULTATIONS

For virtual consultations, there is a non-refundable $100 deposit required at the time of scheduling, which can be used towards the cost of surgery or treatment being provided.

You will be required to fill out intake paperwork that will be sent to you via email prior to your visit. If this is not fully completed 24 hours prior to your appointment, the appointment will need to be rescheduled and considered a “late cancellation.” You will be subject to our late cancellation fee per the applicable policy stated above.

For virtual consultations with Dr. Richland, you will also be required to send in photos of the areas of interest that you wish to discuss in your consultation via email to concierge@richlandmd.com. If this is not completed 24 hours prior to your appointment, the appointment will need to be rescheduled and considered a “late cancellation.” You will be subject to our late cancellation fee per the applicable policy stated above.


INSURANCE

If your visit concerns a covered medical condition under your health insurance plan, please provide your insurance information when scheduling your consultation.

Additionally, please bring a copy of your driver's license or identification and health insurance card to the visit.

Should you have any questions about which insurances Dr. Richland is in network with, please contact your insurance provider or our office at (714) 241-0646.

If you have any questions regarding your insurance bill, please contact our billing company at (714) 895-5614.


PAYMENT

Our practice accepts cash, cashier's checks, personal checks, and most major credit cards, including MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and American Express.


FINANCING

Our practice participates in Care Credit and Patient-Fi, which is a third party company for financing of cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures. For more information, please see our financing page.


RETAIL ITEMS RETURNS & EXCHANGES

If you wish to return a retail item for a refund or exchange, you may do so within one week of purchase. Items must be unopened, unused, and in original packaging. We reserve the right to deny any return/exchange if the item(s) do not meet these criteria. Sale items are non-returnable and considered final sale. We do not refund or reimburse return shipping costs.


FORMS & LETTERS

We understand that, at times, various forms or letters may be required to assist you with your healthcare needs. Our staff will happily complete forms and write medical letters as necessary upon your request. We can commonly complete these requests within 1-2 business days, but please allow up to 7-10 business days in some cases.


MEDICAL RECORD

Per HIPAA guidelines, copies of medical records must be requested in writing. To ensure your privacy, a form for the release of medical information must be completed prior to receipt of these materials. Please use this link for our HIPAA release form and return the completed form to our office. We can commonly complete these requests within 1-2 business days of receiving your completed form, but please allow up to 7-10 business days in some cases.

All patients can request a copy of their medical records one time, free of charge. For additional copies beyond the first, charges may apply.


PRESCRIPTION REFILLS & PHARMACY INFORMATION

Please inform our office of which pharmacy you use and update us if this should change. Please allow 1-2 business days for refill requests. We encourage our patients to closely monitor their medication supply, especially before weekends and holidays, to ensure they don’t run out.

Please note that due to federal regulations, we are not able to fill controlled substances, including narcotic pain control medications, over the phone, on weekends, on holidays, or after regular business hours.
