For our Newport Beach Juvederm patients, the recovery process typically requires no time away from work; and you can resume daily activities following treatment. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling in the treated area, which typically subsides within a few days of treatment. Lip injections may result in more swelling that may last one to two weeks. Although many results are immediately visible, because hyaluronic acid absorbs up to 1000 times its weight in water, over the 7-14 days following treatment, your results will continue to refine and improve themselves.

Juvéderm ULTRA® and ULTRA PLUS® XC soften the appearance of moderate to severe creases on the mid- and lower-face for up to 12 months. There are three new fillers within the Juvéderm family that use a new proprietary technology called VYCROSS®. This technology cross-links the hyaluronic acid molecules in a way that results in a smoother, more natural, long lasting result.
Juvéderm VOLBELLA® XC can subtly enhance lip volume, improve lip definition, and soften vertical lip lines. It has a lower concentration of HA in differently weighted particles to ensure it is soft enough to provide very natural results but durable enough to last a year or longer.
Juvéderm VOLLURE® XC is best suited to treating deeper wrinkles around the nose and mouth for over a year; to create a natural and smooth result that is still rigid enough to work with the movements of the lower face beautifully. Vollure is an excellent option for treating smile lines and nasolabial folds.
Juvéderm VOLUMA® XC is used to restore volume in all three areas of the cheeks and create a youthful contour in the midface. It provides a subtle lifting effect, helping patients look noticeably younger. This is the longest acting filler in the Juvéderm family and can last two years or more.

Is Juvéderm safe?

Although no procedure is completely free of risks or side effects, JUVÉDERM® injectables are very safe when performed by a trained plastic surgeon such as Dr. Richland, who possesses substantial knowledge of the facial anatomy and knowledge of advanced injection techniques.

What are the common side effects of Juvéderm?

Swelling and bruising are the most common side effects and can last up to several weeks weeks after the injection. Other side effects such as lumps, infection, granuloma, hypersensitivity or intravascular injection are rare, but may occur.

How long will the results of Juvéderm last?

Depending on the exact type of filler used, results last approximately nine months to several years. Over time, the hyaluronic acid molecules are then naturally absorbed by your body. The longevity of your results may vary based on the area injected, product used and vary from person to person.

JUVÉDERM® filler treatments are temporary and so you will need retreatment. If you decide not to have any more treatment, it will naturally be absorbed into your body, and the effects will fade away.

Some patients who experience great results with dermal filler may wish to have a longer more permanent treatment in the form of fat grafting to produce long lasting natural results
